About
Select Cycling Review is an independent editorial publication about bicycles and the choices surrounding them. It is for curious riders, prospective riders and readers who want to understand cycling without being pushed toward a particular product or style.
What we cover
Our subjects include bicycle types and their trade-offs, fit concepts, ride planning, routine care and cycling history. We explain terms and choices in plain English, then show what each detail can and cannot tell you. We do not treat every ride as a race or every bicycle as a purchase to optimise.
Who it is for
Readers may be choosing a first bicycle, returning to riding, planning an outing or simply wondering why bicycles are designed in different ways. You do not need specialist knowledge to follow the articles. Where a task calls for professional attention or a check of local requirements, we say so rather than presenting a general article as a substitute.
How we approach a subject
We define the question first, separate general explanation from personal preference, and make trade-offs visible. Recommendations are framed around a stated use, not as a universal answer. The publication does not claim first-hand testing unless an article explicitly says so, and it does not provide professional medical, legal or financial advice.
